UMASS LOWELL INVITATIONAL
The Quinnipiac women's volleyball team will hit the road for their third consecutive weekend tournament on Friday. The Bobcats will take part in the UMass Lowell Invitational beginning with a rematch against the Holy Cross Crusaders on September 11th at 4:30 p.m. On Saturday, Quinnipiac will have a double header, first taking on the San Jose State Spartans at 11:30 a.m. followed by a matchup with UMass Lowell at 7 p.m. to wrap up the weekend.

ALL-TIME AGAINST HOLY CROSS
The Bobcats are 6-7 all-time against the Crusaders including a five set win in August at the Hampton Inn-vitational. Quinnipiac recorded their first victory of the season (25-21, 22-25, 25-23, 15-25, 15-12) in the final game at the Bryant tournament. Katie Urycki posted her biggest game of 2015 with 20 kills and 10 digs with a .313 hitting percentage. Allison Leigh also registered a solid game with eight kills and 10 total blocks.
SCOUTING THE CRUSADERS
Holy Cross enters the invitational looking for their first win of 2015, sitting at 0-6 overall. Since their loss to the Bobcats, the Crusaders went 0-3 at the Fairfield Invitational. HC dropped matches to Fairfield, New Hampshire and Stony Brook in their last three contests. Junior Mandy Sifferlen leads the team with 86 kills while adding a .173 hitting percentage and 57 digs on the year.
SCOUTING THE SPARTANS
Saturday's matchup will mark the first all-time meeting between the two programs. The Spartans are currently 3-4 on the year and 2-1 away from home. San Jose State began the season with their own tournament, finishing 1-3 with a three set win over Weber State. The Spartans most recently completed the UTRGV Tournament with a 2-1 record including wins over Southern and Incarnate Word. Senior outside hitter Tyanna Roy leads the offense with 72 kills at 2.57 per set while adding 20 total blocks.

Last weekend, the River Hawks went 0-3 at the Bradley Invitational with a four set loss to the Manhattan Jaspers.

The Bobcats finished 0-3 in the Courtyard Classic at the Maryland Eastern Shore last weekend. In the opening game of the Invitational, Quinnipiac fell to UMES in straight sets (19-25, 19-25, 19-25). On the second day, the Bobcats won the first two sets but eventually dropped to North Carolina A&T (25-20, 25-23, 16-25, 26-28, 13-15) in a grueling five set match. The Delaware St. Hornets took down QU in the final game (22-25, 20-25, 25-22, 18-25).
DIGGING FOR DEFENSE
Freshman Kat Miller leads the Bobcat defense with 94 digs on the year. Miller has been a valuable asset on the defensive end, averaging 3.48 digs per set.
DOUBLE TROUBLE
On Saturday at the UMES Invitational, Katie Urycki posted two double-doubles in consecutive games. Against NC A&T, she recorded 17 kills and 10 digs before tallying another 17 kills with a season high 13 digs in the second game against Delaware St.
SEASON HIGH SET
The Bobcats played their best set of the season in the first frame against NC A&T, winning 25-20. Quinnipiac recorded season highs with 19 kills and a .448 hitting percentage.
BIG TIME PERFORMANCES
In the second game of the Maryland Eastern Shore Invitational, a couple Bobcats put up huge performances. Sophomore Jamie Termotto recorded a career high 17 kills while freshman Kat Miller led the way with 14 digs and Sierra Dawson added an impressive 31 assists.
UNBE-LEIGH-VABLE WEEKEND
Junior Allison Leigh was selected to the Hampton Inn-vitational All-Tournament Team after three impressive performances. The middle hitter tallied 28 kills and 23 total blocks while registering a .348 hitting percentage. In three sets against Iona, the junior had 12 kills, six total blocks and a .579 percentage.
A KATIE KILLING
Junior Katie Urycki leads Quinnipiac with 39 kills through three games while averaging nearly four per set. She adds nine blocks and a team high four service aces to her resume in 2015. Against Holy Cross, Urycki recorded a double-double, posting 20 kills and 10 digs. In the crucial fifth set to 15 points, she tallied four kills to secure the victory.
MONSTER IN THE MIDDLE
Middle hitter, Allison Leigh registered a huge season in 2014, finishing third in the MAAC in blocks per set (1.60). She enters her third season ranking third all-time in the Division 1 era with 127 total blocks (40 solo, 87 assisted). In addition, Leigh was second on the team with 186 kills.
OWNING THE OUTSIDE
Outside hitter Katie Urycki led the Bobcats with 262 kills in 2014 while ranking sixth in the league with a 0.33 aces per set average. The junior also compiled 159 digs, 43 total blocks, 35 service aces, 25 assists and 0.92 hitting percentage. She led all Quinnipiac outside hitters in digs, hitting percentage, blocks, assists and service aces.
LOOKING AHEAD
After the Bobcats last tournament of the year, Quinnipiac will begin MAAC play with two games in New York next weekend. The Bobcats will meet the Canisius Golden Griffins on Saturday, September 19 in Buffalo at 1 p.m. before traveling to Niagara the following day for another 1 p.m. showdown.
