
QU Baseball's Justin Thomas Named MAAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week

EDISON, New Jersey – Quinnipiac baseball junior pitcher Justin Thomas (Enfield, Connecticut) has been named the MAAC Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of March 30 to April 6, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
Thomas made his best start of the season last Monday as he twirled seven innings of scoreless baseball with 11 strikeouts. Heading into the start, Thomas had struck out nine batters all season, more than doubling his season total. Thomas allowed just two unearned runs in the contest on three hits. After the start, Thomas lowered his season ERA from 7.22 to 4.94.
Overall this season, Thomas is 3-2 with a 4.45 ERA in 28 1/3 innings pitched. He has made six appearances and five starts, allowing 14 earned runs on 28 hits with 13 walks and 22 strikeouts. The lefthander has settled down nicely in his last three appearances, allowing just two earned runs and striking out 15 batters in 15 2/3 innings of work, going 2-0 over the stretch.
The Bobcats take the field on Tuesday, Apr. 7 at 2:45 P.M. with a non-conference showdown against the University of Rhode Island Rams at the QU Baseball Field.
