
Ariana Launie Wins 100th Match of her Career, QU Women's Tennis Sweeps Rider, 7-0

HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac women's tennis senior Ariana Launie (Milton, Massachusetts) picked up the 100th victory of her career, becoming the 19th member and third active member of the 100-win club Saturday afternoon in Quinnipiac's 7-0 sweep of the Rider Broncs at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Launie entered Saturday's match with 99 career victories, reaching the 100 win mark after picking up a doubles victory with fellow senior Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, New York). Launie won her 101st match in singles later in the match to keep up her impressive season.
Junior Sophia Dzulynsky (Miramar, Florida) also picked up the 70th victory of her career as she won the 24th victory of the season.
The Bobcats improve to 8-7 (4-0 MAAC) with the sweep of the Broncs, who fall to 1-14 (0-7 MAAC).
Starting off with doubles, the Bobcats swept all three matches by an 8-0 score. Rachel Horton (Stamford, Connecticut) and Sydney Young (Austin, Texas) swept Michelle Caravaglio and Kerrin Toner while Raynor and Launie teamed up to defeat Danielle Scrudato and Montana Morris, 8-0. Dzulynsky and Daniella Reyes (Burr Ridge, Illinois) also swept Aleesha Rousse and Leonora Paul, 8-0.
Singles was much of the same for the Bobcats as they only allowed more than two points in any singles match. Dzulynsky only allowed one point to Toner, 6-0, 6-1 while Raynor knocked off Scrudato in No. 2 sinigles, 6-1, 6-0. Young competed at No. 3 singles against Caravaglio and defeated Caravaglio, 6-1, 6-4. Horton and Launie each picked up 6-0 straight-set, sweeps as Horton swept Morris as Launie swept Penas. Nicole Keklik (Stratford, Connecticut) picked up some dual match action as she swept Paul, 6-2, 6-2.

The Bobcats will face the Siena Saints on Senior Day Sunday afternoon at 1 P.M. where they will honor their seniors Raynor, Launie and Michelle Dassa (Marlboro, New Jersey).
