QU Women's Tennis Sweeps Hartford, 7-0, for first win of 2014-15 season

Hamden, Connecticut - The Quinnipiac Women's Tennis Team welcomed the first day of Fall with a 7-0 victory over the Hartford Hawks Tuesday at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts to pick up its first win of the 2014-15 season.
It was an all-around solid performance from the Bobcats as they didn't drop a set on the entire day to the Hawks.
Starting off with doubles, Quinnipiac set the tone early against Hartford. Sophia Dzulynsky (Miramar, Florida) and Sydney Young (Austin Texas) picked up a well-earned win over Katie Long and Skylar Schaar, 8-3. Dzulynsky picked up her 50th career win with the doubles win.
Jacqueline Raynor (Garden City, New York) and Ariana Launie (Milton, Massachusetts) teamed up for No. 2 doubles and cruised to an 8-1 victory over Meredith Heitland and Madeline Makings.
Rounding off the doubles play was the duo of Nicole Keklik (Stratford, Connecticut) and Daniella Reyes (Burr Ridge, Illinois) who completed the doubles sweep over Hartford against Emily Sneddon and Hannah Goldman, 8-2.
The Bobcats sealed the win early on in singles play after winning the first three singles matches. Dzulynsky picked up the first singles win of the day over Sneddon, 6-4, 6-0.
Shortly after, Raynor fought hard in the first set before cruising in the second to pick up her 131st career win over Long, 7-5, 6-1.
Sitilia Rencheli (Sarasota, Florida) competed in just singles on the day and made quick work of Schaar, 6-3, 6-1 to pick up the victory.
Young continued her winning ways for the Bobcats as she sailed to win over Heitland, 6-2, 6-0. With the two wins, Young is just one win shy of 50 career wins.
Launie also added a singles victory for two on the day as she climbs to 88 career wins. In her singles match, Launie knocked off Makings, 6-3, 6-2.
Finishing off the sweep on the day was Keklik as she was tested by Felicia Demarco in the second set, Keklik held on to win 6-1, 7-5.

Quinnipiac will have a few days off before returning to action this weekend when it travels to West Point, New York to compete in the Army Invitational from Friday to Sunday with competition each day starting at 9 A.M.
