QU Men's Tennis Improves to 2-0 Defeating Hartford, 5-2

Hamden, Connecticut – The Quinnipiac Men's Tennis Team earned its second win in as many dual matches as the Bobcats clawed their way to a 6-1 victory over the Hartford Hawks at the QU Outdoor Tennis Courts.
Kei Ezaka (Ojai, California) and Jonas Kuwert (Jesteberg, Germany) dominated the No. 1 singles match of the afternoon and hardly took their foot off the gas, defeating Ryan Lugtu and Nick Sharwarko, 8-2.
Quinnipiac (2-0) fought hard in the other two doubles matches to secure the point for doubles. Eric Ambrosio (Lloyd Harbor, New York) and Julian Rozenstein (Marlboro, New Jersey) went to a tiebreaker against Will Drumwright and Alex Romaine but pulled through with the victory, 8-7 (5).
In the final doubles match of the afternoon, Sebastian Barbero (Buenos Aires, Argentina) and Ryoma Haraguchi (New York, New York) captured the victory to sweep doubles for the Bobcats by defeating Juan Molina and Harrison Max, 8-6.
After dominating in doubles, Ezaka continued his impressive performance in singles picking up his second win of the afternoon, 6-1, 6-0.
Ambrosio also continued his solid performance on the court in No. 3 singles with a 6-3, 6-1 win over Romaine. With the win, Ambrosio sits at 98 career wins after the two wins over Hartford.
Rozenstein sealed the match victory for Quinnipiac with his win from No. 4 doubles. Rozenstein cruised to a 6-2, 6-1 victory over Sharwarko.
Willem van Biezen (Warmond, The Netherlands) got his first taste of dual match action for the Bobcats as he played No. 6 singles and defeated Dan Rombola, 3-6, 6-0, 10-5.
Kuwert and Barbero both fought to three set losses for the Bobcats, as Kuwert fell to Drumwright, 6-2, 2-6, 6-4 while Barbero lost in the longest match of the day to Morgan White, 7-5, 4-6, 10-4.

The Bobcats return to action this weekend when they travel to Storrs, Connecticut to compete in the UConn Invitational starting at 2 P.M. on Friday, continuing Saturday morning at 9 A.M. and concluding Sunday at 9 A.M.
