QU Women's Golf Finishes 4th At DSU Fall Invitational

The Quinnipiac University women's golf team finished fourth out of five teams at the 2014 DSU Fall Invitational in Queens Harbor, Delaware. Nicole Scola (Westerly, Rhode Island), Emily Ribbins (Grand Cayman, Cayman Islands) and Estefania Morales (Caracas, Venezuela) all finished in the top 15 in the tournament.

Scola followed her first day 80 with an 81 (+9) to finish at 161 (+17) for the two-day event and tie for sixth place.
Ribbins was a stroke off her previous day's score, pulling into the clubhouse at the end of the day with an 82 (+10) to finish at 163 (+19) for the tournament - good for 10th place. For Ribbins, it was her best 18-hole score of the season and matched her career-best she shot at at the St. John's Invitational last season. Morales finished at 170 for a tie of 15th place. She shot an 83 on the first day before following with an 87 today.
Taylor Lambrou (Baldwin, New York) shot a 93 on the second day to finish with a 179 (+37) for the weekend, while Alexa Gentile (Avon, Connecticut) followed her first-day 89 with a 91 on the second day to finish with a 180 (+38).
Fairfield won the tournament with a combined 630 (305-325), followed by Navy (639--318-321) and then Delaware State (664--338-326). Quinnipiac (671-- 330-341) finished ahead of Hampton (717--351-366).
Quinnipiac returns to action when it competes in the Rutgers Invitational at the Rutgers Golf Course in Sommerset, New Jersey on Oct. 10-11. Quinnipiac will then host the third annual Quinnipiac Classic on Oct. 20-21 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut.
