
Women's Golf Finishes 8th At ECAC Championship, Place Three In Top 25

EGG HARBOR, N.J. – The Quinnipiac women's golf team placed three players in the top 25 at the 2012 ECAC Division I Championship. The Bobcats finished eighth overall, out of 11 competing teams, ahead of Northeast Conference rival Mount St. Mary's, Albany and Navy.
Boston University won the 2012 ECAC Championship with a 631, followed by Hartford with a 633. Sacred Heart White (637), Penn (638) and Siena (642) rounded out the top five. Dartmouth (647), Fairleigh Dickinson (649) finished in front of Quinnipiac (672), followed by Mount St. Mary's (686), Albany (710) and Navy (761).

Jenn Whaley (Farmington, Conn.) paced the Bobcats with an 80 on the second day to combine with her 79 from the first day for a 159, good for a tie of 14th place. Whaley's two-day 179 is the second best 36-hole score in Quinnipiac history, trailing her 154 at the Dartmouth Invitational last weekend.
Krissy Unger (New York, N.Y.) improved by four strokes on the second day of the ECAC Championship as she shot a team-best 79. With her 83 on Friday, Unger's 162 puts in a tie for 20th. Kayla Ketcheson (St. Andrews, Manitoba) shot an 85 to follow her 79 from Friday for a 164 and a tie for 24th place.
Quinnipiac returns to action on Oct. 5-6 when it plays in the Rutger's Invitational at the Rutgers Golf Course in Piscataway, N.J.
