Hamden,
Conn. - The Quinnipiac women's soccer team gave back to the Mali
community during this past summer. The Bobcats played their part in
giving back by donating old soccer equipment, such as gear, balls,
and clothing.
A club teammate of Quinnipiac freshman Taylor Healey (Milford,
Conn.) travelled to Mali over the summer for volunteer work and was
able to distribute the Quinnipiac donated gear.
"Community Service provides my players with a platform to
demonstrate that there are more dimensions to their lives than just
playing soccer," said Head Coach Dave Clarke. "In contributing to
programs in countries such as Mali or working with Special
Olympics, it affords my players the opportunity to give back to
that segment of the soccer community that need help the most. It
reinforces the concept that playing for Quinnipiac University at
the Division I level is quite a privilege."
Quinnipiac hosts their first conference game of the season against
Central Connecticut State University at the Quinnipiac Soccer field
in Hamden, Conn. on Sunday, Sept. 26 at noon.
