Second baseman Steve Kulpa was the first to reach the 200- hit mark—his 201 career hits were a record in 1993 and rank fourth today. He also broke the record for doubles (40), and ranks among the top three in career home runs (19) and runs batted in (137). Kulpa was a fourtime All-Northeast-10 Conference and All-New England Region honoree, and Rookie of the Year in 1990. He earned All-ECAC honors for his final three seasons at Quinnipiac. In 1993, he was honored with the Edwin L. Steck Award and was the Quinnipiac Male Athlete of the Year.
