Jim Freund, a four-year member of the men’s basketball team from 1977–81, is ranked 14th all-time at Quinnipiac with 1,166 points. Freund led Quinnipiac to a 78–38 record during his four years, including an ECAC Tournament title and two NCAA Tournament berths. Freund averaged 13.7 points and 6.9 rebounds per game as a four-year starter, which included a senior season when the honorable mention All-American averaged 18.1 points and 10.1 rebounds per game. As a sophomore, Freund averaged 13.6 points (third on the team) and 6.5 rebounds per game and as a junior, he averaged 12.9 (third on the team) points per contest.
