Ernie Petrucciano was a member of the men’s basketball team at Quinnipiac in the mid- 1950s. Petrucciano, a member of fellow Hall of Famer Tuffie Maroon’s first teams at Quinnipiac, averaged 20.8 points per game in 1953–54, scoring 397 points on the season. That year, he led the team in free throw percentage (.801), leading the squad to a 16–7 overall record.
