In his four seasons on the basketball team, Al Carfora was a two-time All-New England, AllEast and honorable mention AllAmerica selection. As a senior, Carfora was third in the nation with a .652 field goal percentage. That season, he was team captain, a New England Hall of Fame All-Star and an All-Connecticut team selection. Carfora was named to the NCAA Regional All-Tournament team in 1979 and 1980 and was a member of Quinnipiac’s 1977 and 1978 ECAC Championship teams. Carfora is ranked eighth all-time at Quinnipiac with 1,647 points, sixth with 692 field goals, fifth with 846 rebounds and third with 113 games played.
