Description
The Quinnipiac Dance Company is a student run organization that consists of 20 – 30 members. Membership is open to students of Quinnipiac interested in technique, choreography and performance. The purpose of the Dance Company is to promote all types of dance through several phases of dance production, which includes choreography, costuming, production and publicity. Dance company works each semester towards a showcase that consists of jazz, lyrical, tap, modern/contemporary and hip hop. In addition to our showcase, the company performs at various events around campus such as basketball games. We participate in community service events as well as raise money for The American Cancer Society.
Auditions
Auditions for Dance Company are held at the beginning of both the fall and spring semester. The auditions consist of a stretch, across the floor and the choice to learn and perform either a jazz, lyrical, tap or hip hop routine. From there the ones selected to continue with have a one on one with the executive board from which the board will chose the students they feel will be a great addition to the company!
