QU Opens Season 11/4 at Yale
HAMDEN – The Quinnipiac Men's Basketball program has announced its non-conference schedule ahead of the 2024-25 season, as revealed by Head Coach Tom Pecora and the Bobcats on Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2024.
"We're excited to reveal our non-conference schedule ahead of the 2024-25 season," said Quinnipiac Head Coach Tom Pecora. "We're looking forward to building off last year's success as a program, and this slate of games in November and December will help prepare us for MAAC play."
"We will be challenged with several high-level opponents, starting with our season opener against in-state rival Yale. We're also excited for a trip to St. John's in early November, and I'm looking forward to reuniting with the folks from Hofstra on December 29 in Hamden."

The Bobcats will begin the season at Yale (Nov. 4), marking the second consecutive season the two Connecticut programs will clash against one another.
Quinnipiac will host four non-conference games at M&T Bank Arena in Hamden, starting with the home opener against WPI (Nov. 7).
QU will also make a trip to Big East foe St. John's (Nov. 9), as the Bobcats and Red Storm are set to clash from Carnesecca Arena in Queens.
The Bobcats then return to M&T Bank Arena in Hamden to host Maine (Nov. 15), before traveling to Navy (Nov. 19) for the second straight meeting between the two teams.
The program will head to Missouri to compete in a pair of games against St. Louis (Nov. 25) and UMass Lowell (Nov. 27).
The month of December begins at Stonehill (Dec. 1). Quinnipiac will also play host to Holy Cross (Dec. 17), and will travel to another Connecticut foe in CCSU (Dec. 21).
Pecora and the Bobcats close out the non-league slate against Speedy Claxton and the Hofstra Pride. Prior to his time at Quinnipiac, Pecora served as the head coach at Hofstra for nine years (2001-2010). Pecora compiled a 155–126 mark in nine seasons at the helm, leading the Pride to four postseason appearances (three NIT and one CBI), more than any team in New York City over that nine-year span. In 16 years at Hofstra with Pecora on the staff (nine years as a head coach, seven as an assistant), the Pride averaged 19 wins a season (246-161).
The Bobcats finished off a benchmark 2023-24 campaign with 24 total wins (new program record). Quinnipiac won its first-ever MAAC regular season title under first-year Head Coach Tom Pecora. QU also set a new program mark for total points in a single season (2,630).
Quinnipiac's 19-4 start over their first 23 games marked the program's best start to a year since the 1965-66 campaign. QU won 10 consecutive games from Jan. 5 – Feb. 8, the third-longest active streak in all of Division I basketball. The Bobcats finished the month of January with a 7-0 record, marking the first perfect month in the university's Division I history.
Matt Balanc (MAAC Player of the Year, All-MAAC First Team), Savion Lewis (All-MAAC Second Team) and Amarri Tice (All-MAAC Second Team) all earned league postseason awards.
