Whipkey Earns Fifth-Straight Scholar of Distinction Honor
BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Five Quinnipiac field hockey players have been named National Field Hockey Coaches' Association (NFHCA) Scholars of Distinction, as announced by the NFHCA on February 15.
More than 280 student-athletes have been recognized as Division I Scholars of Distinction this year. The Scholars of Distinction program recognizes student-athletes who have achieved a cumulative grade-point average of 3.9 or higher through the first semester of the 2021-22 academic year.
Quinnipiac was even with Old Dominion and Villanova for most honorees amongst BIG EAST institutions.
Senior Brooke Whipkey (Charlotte, North Carolina) earned recognition for the fifth consecutive season for the Bobcats, and is the first Bobcat ever to be named a Scholar of Distinction five consecutive seasons.
Junior Jess Halley (Glasgow, Scotland) has been named a Scholar of Distinction for a fourth straight year, joining Whipkey and Angie King as recent four-year honorees.
Brenna Conway, Bevan Gebhardt, and Kate Zamagni all earned distinction for the first time.
