Bongiovanni Named Finalist for ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year

Bobcats Sophomore Excels in Classroom and on the Ice As All-Around Student-Athlete
- ECAC HOCKEY STUDENT-ATHLETE OF THE YEAR FINALISTS
ALBANY, N.Y. – Quinnipiac men's ice hockey sophomore forward Wyatt Bongiovanni (Birmingham, Michigan) has been named one of 12 finalists for the ECAC Hockey Student-Athlete of the Year Award, as announced by the league office on Monday, March 9.
Bongiovanni has impressed both on and off the ice. Throughout his first two seasons with the Bobcats as he has been named to the honor roll in all three semesters.
He was also recognized last season on the 2018-19 ECAC Hockey All-Academic Team as well as a 2018-19 AHCA All-American Scholar.
An entrepreneurship and small business management student, Bongiovanni has also been involved in the classroom as he has competed in two Entrepreneurship Pitch Competitions in New Haven over the past two school years.
On the ice, Bongiovanni has excelled as one of the Bobcats top forwards as he has totaled 29 goals and 19 assists for 48 points. This season, Bongiovanni has career-highs with 15 goals and 10 assists for 25 points as well as a +9 plus/minus rating and 109 shots on goal.
The Quinnipiac men's ice hockey team returns to action in the ECAC Hockey Quarterfinals this weekend as the No. 3 seed Bobcats will host the No. 7 seed Yale Bulldogs with the best-of-three games series beginning Friday night at 7 p.m. at Frank Perrotti Jr. Arena.
