Chenery Named MAAC Rookie of the Week

Chenery Recorded 11 Points, 6 Rebounds in Collegiate Debut
HAMDEN, Conn. – Quinnipiac men's basketball first-year wing Tymu Chenery has been named MAAC Rookie of the Week for his performance in the Bobcats' season opener, as announced by the league office on Monday, Nov. 30.
Chenery scored 11 points to go along with six rebounds in his collegiate debut on Nov. 25, helping guide the Bobcats past Fairleigh Dickinson at the People's United Center in Hamden.
The Philadelphia-native also recorded two blocks and a steal, and shot 3-for-5 from the floor in 17 minutes off Quinnipiac's bench. He shot a perfect 4-for-4 from the charity stripe.
The weekly award is the first of the new season for the Bobcats. Quinnipiac's last MAAC Rookie of the Week award came when Tyrese Williams captured the honor on Dec. 10, 2018.
Chenery and the Bobcats now head to Mohegan Sun Arena to participate in the Hall of Fame Tip-Off Tournament, facing Drexel on Wednesday, Dec. 2 and Bryant on Friday, Dec. 4.
