Pro Updates
Devon Toews '17 continues to make his mark on the scoresheet for the New York Islanders as he has recorded a point in four of his last five games, including assists in three straight games to give him eight points on the season as of Oct. 30. In the AHL, Chase Priskie has a goal in two straight games with Charlotte as well as Sam Anas with Iowa while Tanner MacMaster has a point in three straight games for Toronto.
Rand's Winning Ways
Head coach Rand Pecknold continues to approach milestone wins in his career. In addition to having 514 wins to rank 12th all-time among Division I Men's Hockey coaches, he is just 12 wins from passing former men's and women's tennis head coach Mike Quitko for the most wins by a coach in Quinnipiac Athletics history. Pecknold and Quitko are the only two Quinnipiac coaches to record 500 wins with Quinnipiac programs.
Winner Winner Chicken Dinner
Quinnipiac has won four of its first five games in the 2019-20 season, doing so for the third time in the past five seasons and ninth time in the program's Division I era. This marks the second straight season the Bobcats have had at least four wins in the first five games.
Strummin' the Bonjo
Wyatt Bongiovanni has been on a tear to open the 2019-20 season, picking up where he left off as a freshman. Bongiovanni has a four-game goal streak heading into the weekend, the longest goal and point streak of his career. He also leads ECAC Hockey with four goals and a 0.80 goals per game average while his +5 plus/minus rating is tied for third in the league. Nationally, Bongiovanni is tied for 10th in goals.
