Tomsik earned the honor after helping the Bobcats win their conference opener with a narrow 12-11 decision over Siena on Saturday. Tomsik finished the game with a goal and three assists, with his goal coming in the fourth quarter to put Quinnipiac back in front 11-10 after the Saints had used a 6-0 run to take a 10-9 lead. His three assists all came in the first quarter to help the Bobcats keep pace early as the game was tied 4-4 after the first stanza.
Tomsik also earned the MAAC Rookie of the Week honor after his collegiate debut, in which he scored on all four of his shot attempts in an overtime loss to UMass Lowell on Feb. 10.
