
Quinnipiac Men's Ice Hockey Ranked No. 1 In USCHO.com Division I Poll For Fifth Straight Week

The Quinnipiac University men's ice hockey team remained in the No. 1 spot in the USCHO.com Division I Poll for the fifth consecutive week, as announced on Monday, Feb. 15. The Bobcats split this past weekend, taking both games to overtime, and stand at 22-2-6 overall and 13-1-4 in ECAC Hockey. The Bobcats garnered 32 of the 50 first place votes in this week's poll. The Bobcats also enter its 17th consecutive week in the top spot in the PairWise Rankings.
Quinnipiac saw both games play-out in overtime, first with St. Lawrence take a 4-3 decision to hand the Bobcats just their second loss of the season. Three different Bobcats lit the lamp including Soren Jonzzon (Mountain View, California), Travis St. Denis (Trail, British Columbia) and Sam Anas (Potomac, Maryland) with the game-tying goal early in the third period. Devon Toews (Abbotsford, British Columbia) had two assists in the game, while Chase Priskie (Pembroke Pines, Florida) picked up his 17th assist of the year. Priskie now leads all ECAC Hockey freshmen with 17 assists.
On Saturday night, Toews played the hero in handing No. 20 Clarkson its second home loss in 15 games this season at Cheel Arena. The Bobcats junior defenseman set-up St. Denis with the game-tying goal before scoring the game-winner in overtime. Priskie also scored for the Bobcats in the road win, while Anas picked up an assist to run his team-leading point streak to 13 games. Anas has accumulated 12 goals and nine assists for 21 points in the run.
Additionally, Quinnipiac clinched a first-round bye in the upcoming ECAC Hockey Tournament and will host a best-of-three-games quarterfinal series on Mar. 11-13 at High Point Solutions Arena at the TD Bank Sports Center in Hamden, Conn. The Bobcats will first travel to Rensselaer on Friday, Feb. 19 and Union on Saturday, Feb. 20 before hosting Brown for Senior Night on Friday, Feb. 26 and Yale for the 14th Annual Heroes Hat on Saturday, Feb. 27. Both of those games can been seen live on SNY, where available.
