Quinnipiac field hockey swept the Metro Atlantic Athletic Conference weekly awards as Michelle Federico (Cheshire, Connecticut) was named the Offensive Player of the Week, Angie King (South Windsor, Connecticut) was named Defensive Player of the Week and Selina Reichert (Lower Hutt, New Zealand) was named Rookie of the Week.
Federico registered five points in two games this week on the strength of two goals and an assist. Against Michigan State, Federico had a hand in both of Quinnipiac's goals in a 3-2 loss, assisting freshman Selina Reichert on her first career goal before scoring her second goal of the year later in the game. Federico currently leads Quinnipiac in points (6), goals (2), assists (2), shots (8) and shot percentage (.250).
King ?was dominant over the weekend, recording three defensive saves in two games while also picking up an assist. Against Michigan State, King assisted Michelle Federico on the Bobcats' second goal of the game while also recording a personal, single-game high of two defensive saves against the Spartans. Against Lafayette, King ran her streak to five consecutive games with a defensive save. To date, she has six this season – one shy of the Quinnipiac single-season record set by Cate Collucci in 2013 – and 11 for her career – also, one shy of Collucci's career record of 12.
In a 3-2 loss to Michigan State, Reichert put Quinnipiac on the board with her first career goal.
