All-Time Against The Crimson
Friday's contest will be the 11th time the two sides have
faced each other, with Harvard leading the all-time series 9-1. In
their last meeting on January 9, 2010, Quinnipiac earned its
first-ever victory against the Crimson, 1-0, on a goal scored by Kelley
Davies (Chesapeake, Va.) at the 17:12 mark of the second
period. On the score, sophomore forward Kate
Wheeler (Woodbridge, Ontario) and sophomore defender Bethany
Dymarczyk (Hamden, Conn.) each were credited with an
assist.
About Dartmouth College
Quinnipiac welcomes Dartmouth after the Big Green suffered
its first loss of the season, 6-1, against No. 2 Cornell University
on Saturday, Nov. 6. The offensive attack for Dartmouth is very
balanced, as there is a four-way tie for first on the team in total
points. Senior forward Amanda Trunzo, junior forward Kelly Foley
and sophomore forwards Camille Dumais and Sally Komarek each have
five points on the year. In goal for the Big Green is freshman
goaltender Lindsay Holdcroft, who has compiled a .836 save
percentage and a 3.00 goals-against average.
All-Time Against The Big Green
Saturday's game will be the 11th time the two teams have
faced each other, as Dartmouth owns the all-time series lead,
6-2-2. In their last meeting on January 8, 2010, Quinnipiac
defeated the Big Green, 2-1, as senior forward Kallie
Flor (Farmington, Minn.) and freshman forward Brittany
Lyons (Canton, Mass.) each scored in the third period. The
victory was the first in Quinnipiac's eventual six-game win streak,
the longest such streak of the 2009-10 season.
Last Time Out
On Saturday, Nov. 6, Quinnipiac was shutout for the first
time this season, 2-0, by Rensselaer. The previous night,
Quinnipiac defeated Union 3-2, as it scored a season-high three
goals in the first period. Freshman forward Kelly
Babstock (Missisauga, Ontario) recorded a goal and assist in
the frame. Freshman forward Lindsay
Burman (Stanchfield, Minn.) scored Quinnipiac's first goal just
30 seconds into the contest for her first-career goal. Senior
forward Kelley
Davies (Chesapeake, Va.) also tallied a goal, her second of the
year.
Quick Strike
Freshman skater Lindsay
Burman's first period goal just 30 second into the contest was
the fastest goal scored for the Bobcats since senior forward Kallie
Flor's goal on February 20, 2010 against Brown. In last
season's contest, the senior netted the first goal of the game just
19 seconds into the first period, as Quinnipiac went on to route
Brown 8-1.
Babstock On The Rise
With an assist on Friday, Nov. 5, the Mississauga, Ontario
native has now tied Quinnipiac women's ice hockey all-time freshman
record of 14 assists, set by both Vicky Graham in 2003-04 and Heather
Hughes in 2009-10.
National Scene
Babstock remains atop the leader-board nationally, as she
is first in the nation with 21 total points. Her 1.75 points per
game ranks her second among all freshman skaters and is good for
14th in the nation. She ranks fifth in the country with 1.17
assists per game and first in the country with 4 game-winning
goals.
Atop ECAC Hockey
Babstock's dominant numbers have her first in six
statistical categories in the ECAC. She leads the ECAC in points
(21), goals (7), assists (14), power-play points (two goals, six
assists), game-winning goals (4), and freshman scorers.
Let The Records Fall
With 21 total points recorded just over a third of the way
through the season, Babstock is on pace to break Quinnipiac's three
major offensive statistical category records. Set during the
2006-07 season, Hayley McMeekin holds the records for Quinnipiac's
all-time points (30) and goals (15) scored in a season. Her fellow
teammate Jennifer Maclean set Quinnipiac's all-time assist record,
with 17, during that same 2006-07 season.
Hardly Second Fiddle
Freshman forward Erica Uden
Johansson (Sundsvall, Sweden) is having quite the season of her
own, ranking in the top five in five statistical categories among
ECAC Hockey skaters. Uden Johansson is right behind Babstock,
ranking second in points (12), goals (6), and points for freshman.
The Sundsvall, Sweden native is also third in the league with six
assists and tied for fifth in the league with four points (one
goal, three assists) in power-play points.
Off To Upstate N.Y.
Quinnipiac returns to action when it travels to Hamilton,
N.Y. to face Colgate on Friday, Nov. 19 at 3 p.m. and Ithica, N.Y.
on Saturday, Nov. 20 at 3 p.m. when it is set to play No. 2
Cornell.
