Bill Zimmer was one of the most dominant defensive players of alltime in Quinnipiac soccer history. Zimmer was a three-time All-New England selection in his freshman, junior and senior seasons. As a sophomore, Zimmer had knee surgery that forced him to sit out the year. During his senior year, Zimmer was named team MVP and played in the New England College All-Star Game. Zimmer also won the Edwin Steck Award given to Quinnipiac’s Oustanding Senior Athlete and was chosen the best defensive player as a junior. He was the first freshman in 25 years to be named to the All-New England Team.
