Russ Certo starred as a hockey and soccer player at Quinnipiac for four years. Certo made his mark on the ice by becoming only the third player in school history to top the 100-point plateau. With 32 goals and 79 assists (10th all-time) in just 3 1/2 seasons, Certo is tied for 14th all-time at Quinnipiac with 111 career points. Certo’s offensive talents helped lead Quinnipiac to its first season with double-digit victories (10–15 in 1981–82) as a senior. In soccer, Certo led his team to the ECAC Men’s Soccer Tournament in 1980 and was a three-time team Offensive Player of the Year.
