Rose Mary DeGrand was the women’s varsity tennis coach from 1977 until 1991. Her tennis teams went a combined 112 and 66 during her tenure and included an NECC Championship in 1986. She was also Quinnipiac’s first director of physical education from 1970 until 2003. A 33-year Quinnipiac employee, DeGrand has the distinction of being the athletic department’s first female administrator and female coach. As assistant professor of physical education, DeGrand was recognized by her peers with the Outstanding Faculty Member of the Year Award in 1997
