As a senior captain, Jeff Fengler became the first Quinnipiac cross country runner to win the Northeast-10 Conference title in 1987. A four-year standout for Quinnipiac, Fengler rates as perhaps the best harrier in school history. He placed 52nd at the NCAA Qualifier in 1987 and earned a second-place finish and All-Conference honors in the New England Collegiate Conference Championships as a freshman and sophomore in 1984 and 1985.
